Zillow brings housing intelligence to Claude, with a path to tours, agents and financing

Industry News · Real Estate · October 26, 2026

A home search that starts in a chat window now ends with a tour request, an agent contact or a loan officer

Zillow announced on October 19, 2026 a connector that brings its housing data into Claude. A user can search homes for sale or rent, check home values and estimate affordability without leaving the assistant. In the same conversation, the user can request a tour, connect with a real estate agent or explore financing. The connector is available now.

Search results include photos, prices and other details, with links to each property on Zillow. Interactive maps appear inside the conversation. Zillow gave the example query “Find three-bedroom homes for sale in Denver under $600,000 with a garage.” To set it up, a user opens Claude, selects Customize, selects Connectors and connects Zillow.

Zillow said that it sends no data to Anthropic. Its own MLS-approved listing display appears inside Claude, with the same broker and MLS attribution that Zillow.com shows. Zillow said that the design keeps real estate agents central to the consumer’s journey.

The connector draws on two decades of housing data, custom AI models and the tools that connect consumers with agents and loan officers. The same foundation powers Zillow AI mode in the Zillow app. Zillow already has an experience in ChatGPT and a rentals experience in Gemini. Zillow said that its ethical AI team runs fair housing reviews of its AI products. It also released the Fair Housing Classifier, an open-source tool that finds potential bias in real estate conversations.

Josh Weisberg is Senior Vice President of AI at Zillow. He said, “Finding a home is one of the most important decisions people make, and it deserves specialized intelligence.” He said that the conversation leads to a way to make it happen, such as a tour or a call with a loan officer.

The takeaway

Zillow did not build another chatbot. It put its next step inside the assistant that buyers already use. Find the assistant where your buyer asks questions, and connect the action, not only the answer.

Why it matters for agent-led growth

  • Distribution moves to the assistant. Zillow now lives in Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini. The listing page is no longer the only front door to a lead.
  • The handoff is the product. A tour request, an agent contact and a financing conversation are the conversion events. A connector without a handoff is a brochure.
  • Attribution rules travel with the data. Zillow kept MLS and broker attribution inside Claude. Check what your industry rules require before you expose data to an agent.
  • Fair treatment needs a test you can show. Zillow runs fair housing reviews and published a classifier. Any agent that recommends to consumers needs a bias check with a record.
