Confido Health raises a $12.5M extension to expand agentic AI across medical practices

An agent that answers the phone, verifies insurance and collects the balance adds capacity to a practice without a new hire

Fierce Healthcare reported on October 14, 2026 that Confido Health raised a $12.5 million Series A extension. Z47 led the round. Confido started with AI voice agents and now builds CareOS, an agentic platform that runs administrative workflows across a medical practice. The round takes the total Series A to $22.5 million. The company serves more than 1,500 sites of care in 27 states.

The Confido agents connect to more than 50 systems of record. These include electronic health records (EHR), practice management, phone, billing and fax systems. The agents automate appointment scheduling, insurance verification, billing and patient outreach. One interaction can cover a referral, an appointment, a prescription refill and a payment.

Confido reports a 15x growth since its last funding round. It reports AI handle rates above 95% across critical office use cases. It says that a practice gains capacity equal to three to five full-time employees within three months. Providers project $10 million to $15 million in annual savings. The company reported these numbers, and no third party verified them.

Confido sells first to private equity firms, then expands into the practices that they own. The target specialties are ophthalmology, optometry, physical therapy, dental, primary care and community care. The company reaches about 3,200 providers.

Michael Pascetta, Chief Financial Officer of Vision Innovation Partners, said that its practices doubled collections in the payments department after they deployed Confido. He said, “We’re following up on patient balances even more, because the tool now makes outbound calls too.”

Vikram Vaidyanathan, partner and senior managing director at Z47, said, “Confido is building AI staffing for healthcare.” Chetan Reddy, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Confido, said that “it’s time for a technology to exist that can truly add capacity.”

The takeaway

Confido sells to the private equity owner, then rolls out across the portfolio. When one buyer controls many sites, the vendor needs one proof point, not one sale per practice.

Why it matters for agent-led growth

  • Sell to the owner of many sites. One private equity deal gives Confido access to a whole portfolio. Find the buyer who controls many locations before you sell one location at a time.
  • Outbound is the growth step. The agent now makes outbound calls for patient balances. The same path works for recalls, reactivation and referral follow-up.
  • Handle rate is the metric. Confido reports handle rates above 95% by use case. Ask every agent vendor for its handle rate by use case, not one number for the whole product.
  • Connect to the systems of record. The agents work inside more than 50 existing systems. An agent that books, verifies and bills in the current stack keeps the demand that a busy front desk loses.
